Few places move as many households as Hampton Roads. Between Naval Station Norfolk, Langley, Fort Eustis, and the shipyards, PCS season turns every other street into a moving-truck lane, and every one of those moves ends with a move-out inspection.
Start with timing. The clean has to happen after the movers pack out and before your final walkthrough, which is often a window of a day or two. Book it as soon as your pack-out date is set, not after.
Inspectors look at the kitchen first: inside the oven and refrigerator, the range hood, and cabinet interiors. Bathrooms come next: buildup in the tub and shower, the base of the toilet, and mirrors. Then floors, baseboards, window sills, and blinds, which are easy to forget and easy to spot.
Ask your landlord or housing office for their checklist in writing and share it with your cleaning team. Cleaning to a specific list is faster, and it's the best way to protect your deposit. And if you're military, ask about our 10% discount.
